Passenger traffic at European airports declined for the first time since the recovery from… "Covid"

Brussels, June 4 ⁠/WAM/ The Association of Airports Council International in Europe confirmed that passenger traffic at the continent’s airports decreased in April for the first time since the start of the recovery that followed the Covid-19 pandemic five years ago, as a result of the unrest and events in the Middle East region.

The traffic report during April 2026 showed that passenger traffic across the European airport network decreased by 0.7 percent.

Compared to the same month last year.

The association, which is based in Brussels, stated that this decrease represents the first year-on-year decline in passenger traffic since the sector recorded

European aviation made its first recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic in April 2021.
