Abu Dhabi Police asks vehicle drivers to pay attention and not be distracted by anything other than the road at school zones

The Abu Dhabi Police General Command called on vehicle drivers to exercise caution and adhere to complete concentration while driving in the vicinity of schools, and not to be distracted by anything other than the road, in order to preserve the safety of students and pedestrians, especially during the morning peak times and dismissal periods.

She stressed that school zones witness heavy traffic and continuous crossing of students, which requires drivers to reduce speeds, adhere to pedestrian lines, and come to a complete stop at school bus stop signs, stressing that being busy using the phone or any other influences while driving puts the lives of others at risk.

She explained that traffic safety is a shared responsibility, and that drivers’ commitment to correct behavior contributes to providing a safe environment for students, calling on parents and road users to cooperate with the competent authorities and promote a culture of safe driving.

It confirmed the continuation of its awareness and monitoring efforts as part of its strategic priorities in enhancing smart road security and community safety.
