Oil continues to rise and gold remains stable

Oil prices rose today, continuing the rise that began several days ago, while there was no significant change in gold prices amid volatile trading.

In oil markets, Brent crude futures for June delivery rose by about 52 cents, or 0.47%, to record $111.78 per barrel by 01:54 GMT, while the most active July contracts reached $104.84, an increase of 0.4%.

US West Texas Intermediate crude for June delivery also rose 57 cents, or 0.57%, to $100.50 a barrel.

On the other hand, gold prices stabilized with a slight tendency to rise, as it rose in spot transactions by 0.1% to $4,597.07 per ounce by 02:43 GMT, after falling in the previous session to its lowest level since April 2.

US gold futures for June delivery also settled at $4,610.20.

In other precious metals, silver rose 0.8% to $73.64 per ounce, while platinum fell 0.4% to $1,930, and palladium fell 0.4% to $1,453.91.
