42 accredited programs in “postgraduate medical studies” at “Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine”

The Dean of the College of Medicine and the Dean of Postgraduate Medical Studies at the Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences, the academic arm of Dubai Health, Dr. Rasha Buhumaid, confirmed that the university’s postgraduate medical studies programs constitute an essential foundation in preparing qualified medical personnel through internship, residency, and fellowship programs, in a way that enhances the quality of medical outcomes and raises the level of care within the integrated academic health system in Dubai Health. Buhumaid said that these programs contribute to attracting and developing medical competencies, and enhancing Dubai’s position as an advanced center for scientific research, noting that the integration between the academic track and practical application in postgraduate medical studies programs confirms the university’s commitment to developing medical practices, as the programs combine advanced academic education and practical training in hospitals and external treatment centers affiliated with “Dubai Health”, which contributes to transferring knowledge to clinical application directly and supports the quality of health care. Buhumaid stated that the university offers 42 accredited programs within postgraduate medical studies programs, including excellence programs in medicine and dentistry, and residency programs in multiple specialties, including medicine. Anesthesia, dermatology, emergency medicine, family medicine, general surgery, internal medicine, pediatrics, psychiatry, diagnostic radiology, and orthopedics, in addition to fellowship programs in precise specialties such as adult cardiology, respiratory diseases, nephrology, gastroenterology, pediatric intensive care, stroke, and pediatric surgery, which reflects the diversity of programs and their response to the needs of the health sector. She pointed out that the university’s programs in postgraduate medical studies have received accreditation from the National Institute for Health Specialties. The Emirati Board, the General Secretariat of the Arab Council for Health Specialties (Arab Board), and the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (Saudi Board), ensuring that the university’s scientific and training outputs are compatible with local and regional standards.
