Real Zaragoza goalkeeper suspended for 13 matches

Yesterday, the Spanish Football Federation suspended Real Zaragoza’s Argentine goalkeeper, Esteban Andrada, for 13 matches, after he punched a Huesca player in the second division of football in the face.

The Federation’s Disciplinary Committee said, in a statement, that the Argentine international and his club will also be fined, after he was first expelled, then “assaulted” Jorge Pulido, the Huesca player, during the second division derby, last Sunday.

Andrada was suspended for 12 matches due to the punch itself, while the first red card results in an automatic one-match suspension, which means the end of his season, in a severe blow to Zaragoza’s hopes in its struggle to avoid relegation.
