Britain raises the terrorist threat to “severe” after the stabbing incident

The British Home Office announced that it had raised the terrorist threat level on Thursday to “severe,” the second highest level in the five-level system, the day after two men were stabbed in London.

The ministry stated that the Joint Terrorism Analysis Center raised the national threat level in the United Kingdom from “substantial,” meaning an attack is likely, to “severe,” meaning an attack is very likely in the next six months.
