TOKYO, 1st May / WAM / The yen fell slightly against the dollar today, but it is still on track to achieve its largest weekly gains in more than two months after the Japanese authorities intervened to raise the currency from its lowest levels in nearly two years.
The yen fell 0.25 percent to 156.99 to the dollar, but the rise witnessed yesterday, Thursday, makes the Japanese currency tend to rise 1.8 percent this week, which is the largest since mid-February.
The dollar index, which measures the performance of the US currency against a basket of currencies, recorded no significant change. The euro fell 0.03 percent to $1.1727.
Regarding cryptocurrencies, the price of Bitcoin fell 0.17 percent to $76,330.16, and the price of Ether fell 0.27 percent to $2,257.53.
