Jordan targets sites of arms and drug dealers on its northern border

The Jordanian army announced in a statement on Sunday that it targeted the sites of arms and drug dealers on its northern border. A statement issued by the Jordanian army said: “At dawn today, Sunday, the Jordanian Armed Forces carried out a Jordanian deterrence operation in which they targeted a number of locations for arms and drug dealers on the northern border front of the Kingdom.”

The statement added: “The armed forces, based on intelligence and operational information, identified the locations of factories, laboratories and warehouses that these groups used as locations to launch their operations towards Jordanian territory, where they were targeted and destroyed.”

The Jordanian Armed Forces confirmed in the statement that “they carried out targeting operations with the highest degree of accuracy, in order to prevent narcotics and weapons from reaching Jordanian territory.”

The Armed Forces stated that “these groups are adopting new patterns of activity, taking advantage of the current weather and regional conditions to carry out their operations,” noting that “the number of attempts to smuggle weapons and narcotic substances has witnessed a noticeable increase, which has posed a major challenge to the Border Guard Forces and the formations and units that support them in performing their duty.”

The statement concluded by affirming that the Jordanian Armed Forces “will continue to deal proactively, decisively and deterrently with any threat that affects the security and sovereignty of the Kingdom, and will therefore harness its capabilities and capabilities to confront it with full force and decisiveness.”
