The UAE condemns in the strongest terms the targeting of a national tanker belonging to ADNOC while it was passing through the Strait of Hormuz

The UAE expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of the Iranian terrorist attack that targeted a national tanker belonging to the ADNOC company, using two drones, as it was passing through the Strait of Hormuz, without recording any casualties.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed, in a statement, that this attack constitutes a flagrant violation of Security Council Resolution No. 2817, which stressed freedom of navigation and the refusal to target commercial ships or disrupt international sea lanes, stressing that targeting commercial navigation and using the Strait of Hormuz as a tool of pressure or economic blackmail constitutes acts of piracy by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, and constitutes a direct threat to the stability of the region and its peoples and to global energy security.

The UAE stressed the need for Iran to stop these treacherous attacks, ensuring its full commitment to stop all hostilities and reopen the Strait completely and unconditionally, in order to achieve the security of the region and the stability of the global economy and trade.
