"Enhance" Signing agreements worth 104.6 billion dirhams during"Made in UAE"

Abu Dhabi, 5 May / WAM / Taziz announced today the signing of long-term agreements that include the sale and supply of raw materials across its chemicals portfolio, including methanol, polyvinyl chloride, ethylene dichloride, vinyl chloride monomer, caustic soda, salt, and natural gas, with a value of 104.6 billion dirhams ($28.5 billion), during its participation in the “Make in the UAE 2026” platform.

The duration of the agreements ranges from five to 25 years, and ensures securing global demand and providing reliable local raw materials, which contributes to supporting large-scale chemical production in the UAE, and consolidating the role of “Taziz” in building an integrated local system for chemical industries.

These deals include sales agreements with ADNOC and Broman to supply methanol, Emirates Global Aluminum Company for caustic soda, Mitsubishi for ethylene dichloride, vinyl chloride monomer and caustic soda, Mitsui & Co. Ltd. for ethylene dichloride and caustic soda, Sanmar Group for ethylene dichloride and vinyl chloride monomer, and Tricon for polyvinyl chloride. Chloride, ethylene dichloride, and caustic soda, and with the “Finmar” company to supply ethylene dichloride and polyvinyl chloride.

Mishal Saud Al Kindi, CEO of Taziz, said on this occasion that these long-term agreements constitute an important step for the company and its plans to enhance industrial growth in the UAE, pointing out that through its efforts to meet global demand and provide raw materials from reliable local sources, Taziz continues to transform its vision into a tangible reality by laying stronger foundations for a world-class chemicals sector, contributing to strengthening local value chains, creating sustainable economic value, providing job opportunities, and supporting the flexibility of supply chains in the country.

The agreement signed with Emirates Global Aluminum includes the supply of approximately 200,000 dry metric tons annually of caustic soda, and constitutes an important step in the framework of the national endeavors to achieve industrial self-sufficiency.

The agreement strengthens Taziz’s position as the first major supplier of caustic soda produced in the UAE to the Al Taweelah alumina refinery of Emirates Global Aluminium, which is located in the Khalifa Economic Zones of Abu Dhabi (KIZAD).

ADNOC Gas signed a 25-year raw materials supply agreement to supply natural gas to the “Taziz Methanol” project, with a value exceeding 18.4 billion dirhams ($5 billion).

Taziz also signed a 20-year agreement to supply salt with Sama Salt Production Company, based in Abu Dhabi, to support production operations at Taziz’s polyvinyl chloride complex.

It is worth noting that these agreements together contribute to benefiting from local resources to ensure the provision of reliable and sustainable supplies of basic raw materials, which contributes to strengthening local value chains and supporting the achievement of industrial self-sufficiency in the UAE.

It is planned that the “Taziz” chemical industries zone will produce 4.7 million tons of chemicals annually once construction work is completed in 2028.
