"Zayed Housing" 759 residential approvals will be issued during 2026, worth 616 million dirhams

ABU DHABI, 5 May 2026 – The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, represented by the Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme, announced the issuance of 759 housing approvals with a total value exceeding 616 million dirhams during the first quarter of the current year 2026, distributed among 129 grant decisions and housing benefits worth 102 million and 900 thousand dirhams, and 583 housing loans and financing in partnership with national banks and finances worth 460 million dirhams. And 500 thousand dirhams, in addition to 47 loan decisions for government housing within residential complexes worth 53 million and 200 dirhams, in a step that reflects the acceleration of the pace of achievement and enhancing the efficiency and sustainability of the housing support system in the country.
This advanced performance embodies the program’s progress since its establishment in 1999, as it contributed to the issuance of more than 73,000 housing support decisions worth more than 50 billion dirhams nationwide, through an integrated system of housing solutions that meet the various needs of citizens, in a way that enhances family stability and improves the quality of life.
The model of partnership with the private sector in financing housing loans constituted a qualitative shift in the efficiency of the sector, as it contributed to closing more than 12,000 accumulated applications, raising the rate of meeting applications from 34% to 94%, in addition to achieving a home ownership rate of 91%, which reflects the effectiveness of housing policies and the sustainability of their economic and social impact.
His Excellency Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, said that the rapid development witnessed by the housing sector in the UAE reflects the forward-looking vision of the wise leadership and its keenness to provide decent housing for citizens as it is a fundamental pillar of family stability and a major axis in the quality of life system, stressing that the housing policies in the country are based on an integrated approach that puts people at the top of priorities, and translates the leadership’s directives into building a cohesive society that enjoys prosperity and stability.
His Excellency pointed out that these efforts represent an extension of the UAE’s vision to build more prosperous, resilient and sustainable cities and communities, and keep pace with the goals of “We are the Emirates 2031” and “The UAE Centennial 2071”, by developing an integrated housing system that supports the well-being of the citizen.
For his part, His Excellency Engineer Mohammed Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure for Infrastructure and Transport Affairs, said that the housing system in the country is witnessing a qualitative strategic transformation based on developing innovative financing models, strengthening partnerships with the private sector, and adopting smart solutions that raise the efficiency of service provision and contribute to accelerating the fulfillment of residential requests efficiently and sustainably, in order to achieve a balance between financial sustainability and social impact, and enhance the sector’s ability to keep pace with population growth and future changes.
