The addition of Demi Moore (63 years old) adds a remarkable dimension to the committee’s lineup this year, especially since she is one of the most prominent Hollywood stars, who has maintained a renewed artistic presence over the decades, which makes her participation in the evaluation process an extension of a long experience with commercial and dramatic cinema alike.

This year’s jury lineup reflects a remarkable diversity of cinematic and cultural backgrounds, as it brings together actors and directors from different artistic schools, which is consistent with the identity of the Cannes Festival, which is always keen to provide a multi-directional reading of the participating works, away from one perspective, or a specific artistic school.

This year’s jury also includes Chinese director Chloe Zhao, who is internationally known after the success of her film “Nomadland,” which won wide critical acclaim and a number of international awards, in addition to her subsequent works that established her name among the most prominent contemporary cinematic voices with a deeply human nature.

The Ivorian-French actor Isaac de Bankole, who has a strong presence in world cinema, also participates in the committee, and is expected to draw attention again in the third part of the “Dion” film series, which enhances the diversity of cultural and artistic backgrounds within the jury.

As for the chairmanship of the committee, it was assigned to the South Korean director Park Chan-wook, who has a distinguished directorial imprint and is one of the most prominent names in modern Asian cinema. He became internationally famous through his film “Oldboy,” which established his position as one of the most influential directors of his generation, thanks to his sharp visual style and his ability to mix suspense with the psychological dimension.
