US stock indices close higher

NEW YORK, May 9 (WAM) – US stock indices closed trading higher on Friday.

The Standard & Poor’s 500 index rose by 61.40 points, or 0.84 percent, to close at 7,398.51 points.

The Nasdaq Composite Index rose 437.64 points, or 1.70 percent, to 26,243.84 points.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average also rose 10.10 points, or 0.02 percent, to 49,607.81 points.
