Washington imposes new sanctions on Chinese and international entities for supporting Iran’s military programs

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced the imposition of a new sanctions package targeting Iranian arms networks abroad, along with a number of international and Chinese entities involved in supporting Tehran’s military capabilities.
Rubio explained, in statements to reporters, that the sanctions included Chinese entities for providing Iran with satellite images, noting that these images contributed to supporting the attacks launched by Tehran against American forces present in the Middle East region. The punitive measures also affected other international entities accused of supplying the Iranian army with the raw materials necessary to develop its missile and drone programs.
In a related context, the US Minister issued a strong warning, stressing that the United States will not hesitate to use the weapon of unilateral sanctions to pursue and hold accountable any party proven to have violated UN Security Council resolutions related to Iran.
At the conclusion of his statements, Rubio stressed Washington’s firm commitment to using all available tools and options to prevent Tehran from rebuilding and developing its sensitive programs, especially those related to nuclear proliferation.
