Tomorrow, Paris will host the first European leg of the President’s Cup for Arabian Horses

Paris, 9 May / WAM / Tomorrow, Sunday, the French capital, Paris, will host the first European stop in the series of His Highness the President of the State’s Cup races for purebred Arabian horses in its thirty-third edition, on the ancient Longchamp track, with the participation of the elite of purebred Arabian horses in one of the most prominent stops of the European season.

The French leg of the French “Emirates Jeans” races, one of the most prominent classic stations in the French and international horse racing calendar, will be held in cooperation with the French horse racing authority, France Gallup, which reflects the global status of the precious cup and its role in supporting the journey of the purebred Arabian horse and enhancing its presence on international tracks.

The Cup competitions will begin tomorrow at 2:25 pm Paris time, as part of a busy racing program at the Long Champ Racecourse, at a station that represents the gateway for the 33rd edition to European tracks, after the successes achieved by the series in its previous stations, most notably the American station that was held at Churchill Downs Racetrack within the atmosphere of the Kentucky Derby.

An elite group of international horses and stalls, with a total prize pool of 350,000 euros, is competing for the title of the His Highness the President of the State Cup race for purebred Arabian horses, which is classified as a first-class race for a distance of 2000 meters and is designated for purebred Arabian horses aged 4 years and above.

The horse “RB King Maker” stands out with the logo of owner Hilal Al-Alawi, as one of the most prominent participants in the race, under the supervision of trainer Leonardo Daniel Racco and led by jockey Christian Demoro.

Al Shaqab Racing also participates with the horse “Theeb” under the supervision of trainer Thomas Forsey and led by jockey Fabrice Veron, along with the horse “Attack” under the supervision of the same trainer and led by jockey Christophe Soumillon.

“Wathnan Racing” registered the presence of three horses: “Lipo de Carrere” under the supervision of coach Alban de Meol, and led by jockey James Doyle, “Mounir” under the supervision of coach Damien de Wattregon, and led by jockey Mikael Barzalona, ​​and “Merhab” under the supervision of coach Alban de Meol, and led by jockey Augustin Madame.

The list of participants reflects the strength of the French station, in the presence of horses with strong records and high preparation, in addition to elite trainers and riders, which raises the level of competition in the race, which represents an important test of speed and endurance on the Long Champ track.

The record of champions of the French station during the past years includes prominent names, including “Lusail” champion of the 2025 edition, “Doha” champion of 2024, “Shiza” champion of 2023, “Hatal” champion of the 2021 and 2022 editions, “Drian” champion of 2020, “Tif” champion of 2019, “Shahm” champion of 2018, and “Muraseeb” champion. 2017, and “Al Murtajaz” champion in 2016.

Attention is also drawn to the French Emirates Jeans races for purebred crossbred horses, which represent the opening of the French classic races, where the 1,600-meter colt race is held with the participation of 13 horses and with prizes amounting to 650,000 euros, while the 1,600-meter filly race is held with the participation of 15 fillies and with prizes amounting to 550,000 euros.

His Excellency Matar Suhail Al-Yabhouni Al-Dhaheri, Chairman of the Supreme Organizing Committee of the President’s Cup Series for Arabian Horses, confirmed that the France station represents one of the important stations on the agenda of the thirty-third edition, due to the historical and artistic value it holds on European tracks, and the presence of elite horses, owners, trainers and riders.

He said that the precious cup, which is held with the support of the wise leadership, continues to consolidate its global position and enhance the presence of the purebred Arabian horse in the most important international equestrian fields.

He added that the France leg represents an extension of the successes achieved by the series, especially after the widespread resonance of the American leg in the Kentucky Derby, which strengthens the Cup’s position as one of the most prominent classic races for purebred Arabian horses in the world.
