"Women Dubai" Launches the first integrated rehabilitation program for social service, psychological, and family counseling practitioners

Dubai, June 22 / WAM / Al Nahda Women’s Association in Dubai launched the qualification program for social service, psychological and family counseling practitioners coinciding with the “Year of the Family 2026” in a qualitative initiative aimed at preparing specialized professional cadres capable of enhancing family stability and supporting its cohesion in line with the country’s directions and vision in building a more interconnected and sustainable society.

The program is the first of its kind at the state level, as it combines the specializations of social service and psychological and family counseling within an integrated rehabilitation framework, allowing participants to acquire the knowledge, experience, and professional skills necessary to deal with family, psychological, and social issues from a comprehensive and balanced perspective.

Dr. Fatima Al Falasi, Director General of the Association, confirmed that the launch of the program comes in line with national trends that place the family at the top of community development priorities, noting that investing in specialized cadres represents one of the most important factors in enhancing family stability and raising the quality of life.

She said that the rehabilitation program constitutes a strategic step towards building a generation of scientifically and professionally qualified practitioners to deal with the changing social, psychological and family challenges in keeping with the needs and aspirations of Emirati society.

She added that the program embodies the association’s mission to support social development and enable specialists to adopt the best international professional practices, which will reflect positively on the stability of the Emirati family and enhance the goals of the “Year of the Family 2026.”

For her part, Lulwa Ahmed, Acting Director of the Training and Consultation Department at the Al Nahda Women’s Association in Dubai, explained that the program was designed based on the growing need to enhance integration between the fields of social service and psychological and family counseling and to bridge the knowledge gap between the two specializations, enabling practitioners to provide more comprehensive and effective interventions.

She noted that the program includes 12 specialized training courses with a total of 60 training hours provided by an elite group of experts, consultants and specialists from inside and outside the UAE, ensuring participants a rich training experience that combines both theoretical aspects and practical application and keeps pace with the latest professional developments in the fields of social service and psychological and family counselling.

She added that the program focuses on providing participants with the necessary tools and skills to deal with various family and psychological issues and enhancing commitment to ethical and professional standards, in addition to consolidating the concepts of complementary work between specializations related to family and community service.

She stated that the program witnessed wide participation from a number of relevant institutions and government agencies, which reflects the importance of the initiative and its role in developing specialized national competencies and enhancing cooperation between various agencies working in the fields of social care and family and psychological guidance.
