المملكة: The Minister of Foreign Affairs participates in the Arab League meeting in Jordan
His Highness shared Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah The Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Jordanian capital, Amman, today, at a meeting of the The League of Arab States at the ministerial level in its 165th regular, resumed session.
During the meeting, the process of joint Arab action was reviewed, and ways to support the Arab League system and develop its work mechanisms in a way that achieves the aspirations of its member states.
The latest regional and international developments were also discussed, including welcoming the agreement between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States of America, stressing the importance of reducing escalation and creating the atmosphere for a comprehensive agreement that enhances the security and stability of the region.
Approval by the Secretary-General New
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Bahraini Foreign Minister, Chairman of the current session of the Arab League Council, Dr. Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al-Zayani officially approved the decision to appoint Nabil Fahmy as the new Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, with a mandate from the Arab leaders, as of the beginning of next July, wishing him, on behalf of the member states of the Council, success in leading the League and continuing to develop joint Arab action and serving Arab issues.
The meeting was attended by His Highness Prince Mansour bin Khalid bin Farhan, Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and the Kingdom’s Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States, Ambassador Abdulaziz Rain.
