The first batch of advanced chips has arrived in the Emirates…and more are “on the way.”

The UAE Ambassador to the United States, Yousef Al Otaiba, announced that the first batch of advanced chips from Nvidia had arrived in the country, stressing that more of these chips are “on the way,” as part of the growing partnership between the UAE and the United States in the field of artificial intelligence and advanced technology.
In a keynote speech he delivered during the SCSP AI+ Expo organized by the Atlantic Council in Washington, Al Otaiba said that the UAE and the United States are building “the most important economic partnership of this decade,” noting that cooperation between the two countries includes investing in infrastructure for artificial intelligence, energy, and manufacturing, which contributes to creating thousands of jobs in the United States.
He added that the UAE has already invested a trillion dollars in the United States, and has committed to investing $1.4 trillion over the next decade, in addition to signing more than 30 agreements over the past year, explaining that an important part of this commitment focuses on accelerating cooperation in advanced technology.
In this context, Al Otaiba said that the Emirati-American artificial intelligence complex with a capacity of 5 gigawatts is currently under construction, and that work began during the visit of US President Donald Trump a year ago, indicating that the first 200 megawatts of the project will enter service soon.
He added: “I am pleased to announce that the first batch of advanced chipsets have arrived in the UAE, and more are on the way.”
Al Otaiba stressed that the importance of this infrastructure is not limited to the Emirates alone, saying that American technology, starting from Abu Dhabi, can serve about half of the world’s population, considering that this model demonstrates how to spread American technology responsibly and deliver artificial intelligence to the markets that need it most.
