Syrian Telecom conducts the first payment experience via “Visa” and “MasterCard”

Today, Saturday, the Syrian Ministry of Communications conducted the first experiment with electronic payment, through the global “Visa” and “MasterCard” networks, in addition to the first local payment network linked to the global bank card payment network.
Syrian Minister of Communications Abdul Salam Heikal said during the experiment that Syria is gradually moving towards a global digital economy that supports development and keeps pace with the requirements of modern life.
He stressed that modern financial technologies constitute a necessary basis for developing the economy, improving services, and enhancing the efficiency of daily transactions, noting that discipline in procedures and transactions is the basis for building confidence in digital transformation and the modern and advanced financial economy.
