Loyalty to homelands is a legal obligation, and political sectarianism is a threat to the security and stability of societies

The Council of Muslim Elders, in a statement commenting on the repeated events related to the announcement by a number of Arab countries, the latest of which is the Kingdom of Bahrain, of revealing cells and organizations linked to foreign parties, affirmed that preserving the homelands and maintaining their security, stability, and the unity of their societies are among the major legitimate goals.

The Council stressed that loyalty to homelands and respect for their sovereignty and institutions represents a firm religious and moral duty, and it is not permissible, in any way, to be violated or to impose any external allegiances on it.

The Council stated that the true Islamic religion established man’s relationship with his homeland and society on fixed principles of fulfilling the covenant, preserving security, and preserving blood and property, while categorically prohibiting treason, spreading corruption on earth, and stirring up strife, citing the Almighty’s saying: “And fulfill the covenant. Indeed, the covenant will be questioned.”

And the Almighty said, “And do not make corruption in the earth after it has been set in order,” and in the hadith of the Prophet, peace and blessings of God be upon him, “Whoever takes up arms against us is not one of us,” thus confirming that every effort that threatens the security of societies or provokes chaos and division among the people of one nation is completely inconsistent with the teachings of Islam.

The statement explained that employing sectarian or sectarian affiliations to serve foreign political agendas or cross-border organizations represents a dangerous deviation from the purposes and values ​​of Islamic law based on maintaining security, stability and coexistence.

The Council issued a clear call to everyone not to be drawn into ideological voices and platforms that aim to sow division and division, and seek to attract loyalties outside the framework of the national state.

The Council of Muslim Elders reaffirmed that confronting political sectarianism and hate speech is a shared religious and national responsibility, indicating that fulfilling this responsibility requires serious work to consolidate the values ​​of citizenship and coexistence, spread awareness and strengthen class unity, in order to ensure the preservation of the security of the nations and the stability of the peoples.
