Korean stocks open at record high

SEOUL, May 11 (WAM) – Korean stocks opened trading today at a new record level, exceeding the 7,700-point barrier, thanks to the continued rise in the shares of major companies in the semiconductor sector.
The benchmark KOSPI index opened at a new record high of 7,775.31 points, up 277.31 points, or 3.7%.
Micron Technology shares jumped by 15.49%, AMD semiconductor manufacturer shares rose by 11.44%, and Nvidia shares rose by 1.75%.
