Trump will visit China from next Wednesday to Friday, according to the White House, for the first time since 2017 during his first presidential term.
The White House confirmed that the visit will also touch on issues of trade, customs duties, and artificial intelligence.
First Deputy White House Press Secretary Anne Kelly said that Trump will arrive in Beijing on Wednesday evening, at the beginning of a visit that was scheduled for March, but he postponed it due to the war that Washington and Israel started against Iran in February 28.
An official reception will be held for Trump on Thursday before his meeting with Xi Jinping, followed by a visit to the Temple of Heaven in the afternoon, before an official banquet at night.
The two presidents will also hold additional discussions on Friday before Trump leaves for the United States.
Restoring economic independence
The spokeswoman said that Trump will focus on restoring balance to the relationship with China and give priority to the principle of reciprocity and fairness, in order to restore the economic independence of the United States. United States.
Kelly added: This will be a visit of great symbolic importance, but President Trump never travels for symbolism alone, and the American people can expect the President to make additional good deals for the benefit of our country.
