Rare details about the day the new Iranian guide, Mojtaba Khamenei, was injured


An Iranian official revealed new details about , confirming that the injuries he suffered during on , late last February, it was minor and did not pose a threat to his life.

The spokesman for the Iranian Ministry of Health, Hossein Kermanpour, said that Mojtaba Khamenei arrived at a hospital in Tehran at noon on February 28, accompanied by a number of those injured as a result of the attacks that the country witnessed, which coincided with the outbreak of the military confrontation in the region.

Kermanpour explained, in statements. It was reported by the Iranian Labor News Agency that the injuries were limited to superficial wounds to the face, head and legs, stressing that they did not require any complex medical interventions, except for some simple stitches.

He added that the health condition of the new Iranian leader was stable, pointing out that he continued fasting during the month of Ramadan despite his presence in the hospital, and refused to break the fast until the time of the Maghrib call to prayer, which he considered an indication that he was in good health.

The Iranian official indicated that Khamenei left the hospital in the early hours of March 1, without revealing his destination after his exit.

Mojtaba Khamenei had been absent from public appearances since assuming the position of Supreme Leader, succeeding his father Ali Khamenei, who was killed during the first day of the American-Israeli attack on Iran on February 28, developments that sparked a wide-scale war in the Middle East.

During the past months, Khamenei’s continued absence raised speculation about his health condition, especially after statements by US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, in which he was likely to be injured.

In May, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian announced that he had held a lengthy meeting with the Supreme Leader that lasted about two and a half hours.

While Iranian television later reported that the commander of the Khatam al-Anbia headquarters, Ali Abdullah Aliabadi, met with Mujtaba. Khamenei, who issued new directives to continue military operations.
