NASA reveals its plans to establish its first base on the moon

The US space agency NASA has revealed ambitious plans to establish its first base on the moon, which may allow humans to reside and work there within six years.

The British news agency, PA Media, reported today that the base will be established at the south pole of the moon, and its sites may extend over an area of hundreds of square kilometers, and it will be established in stages, which will gradually enhance its capabilities.

This project aims to contribute to achieving new scientific discoveries and developing the technologies necessary for future deep space missions, including planned missions to Mars.

The project comes after the record flybys of the Moon carried out by the Artemis 2 mission crew last April, which constituted a decisive step towards future landings.
