“Defense” begins interviews for high school students within the “Leadership Competencies” program

The Ministry of Defense announced the start of implementing the personal interviews stage for male citizen high school students, in all emirates of the country over a period of four weeks, following the completion of the “Leadership Competencies Evaluation” stage that was implemented last April, in preparation for launching a strategic national project to prepare a generation of qualified national competencies according to the highest standards of readiness, discipline and leadership excellence.

The Ministry confirmed that the assessment, which targeted high school students in the public and private sectors and was implemented remotely via an integrated digital system, witnessed broad national interaction and high levels of commitment from students and parents, reflecting awareness of the importance of national initiatives aimed at preparing future leaders and strengthening the national security system.

The Ministry explained that the initiative comes in line with the vision of the wise leadership to invest in the Emirati people and build generations possessing competence, readiness, awareness and national responsibility, which contributes to enhancing the nation’s security, sustaining its gains, and consolidating the country’s leadership in the future.

The Ministry of Defense recently concluded the “Leadership Competencies Evaluation,” which began on April 15 and lasted for four days, with the aim of measuring and analyzing the leadership capabilities of Emirati youth, by evaluating their skills, behaviors, and performance in various situations, which contributes to determining their level of readiness for leadership roles.

Ministry of Defense statistics revealed that the percentage of those targeted in the “Leadership Competencies Assessment” reached 98%, while the passing rate reached 92%, which reflects the high level of commitment among the students and their families, and enhances the reliability of the assessment outcomes in supporting the process of preparing national competencies.

The Ministry affirmed that the directives of our wise leadership represent the basic foundation from which it carries out its duties, stressing the continuation of work with determination and a clear vision to prepare a qualified and empowered national generation that contributes to strengthening the nation’s security, preserving its gains, and sustaining its development path.

The national competency assessment witnessed a remarkable turnout by students, as the first day (April 15) recorded the participation of 30% of those targeted, while the percentage jumped on the second day (April 16) to reach 55%, which reflects the awareness of Emirati youth about the importance of this step in their national and professional journey.
