A man was caught hiding 150 poisonous scorpions inside his luggage at an airport in South Africa

Authorities stopped at A 28-year-old man was killed while trying to smuggle 150 poisonous scorpions through , according to what the police announced on Saturday.

The police said in a statement that the detainee, whose identity was not revealed, was arrested under the Nature and Environment Protection Law, in addition to charges of illegal possession of wild animals.

She added that the seized scorpions were handed over to a specialized wildlife center to preserve them, while officials are evaluating their financial value, noting that he is scheduled to appear before the court on Monday.
