المملكة: Imam Muhammad bin Saud University announces the date of making bridging available to diploma graduates


Declared Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University, represented by the Deanship of Admission and Registration, the opening date for applications for bridging programs for graduates of Intermediate diplomas (post-secondary) for the next academic year, as part of its ongoing efforts to support Continuing education and enabling national competencies to complete their university studies and obtain a bachelor’s degree in a manner consistent with the needs of the labor market and the requirements of national development.

The university explained that applications for bridging programs will begin at twelve noon on Sunday 1/13/1448 AH corresponding to June 28, 2026 AD, and will continue until Saturday 1/26/1448 AH corresponding to July 11, 2026 AD, via The electronic application portal designated for this purpose.

Academic Controls

The university indicated that bridging programs target graduates of intermediate diplomas or intermediate university certificates who wish to continue their academic path to obtain a bachelor’s degree, according to academic and regulatory controls based on the unified Saudi classification of specializations and educational levels, the National Qualifications Framework, and the study and examination regulations approved by the Council of University Affairs.

It stressed that admission is limited to programs that meet development requirements and needs. The labor market, with the requirement that the specialization to be bridged to be an extension of the applicant’s specialization at the diploma stage, and that the accepted student must study at least 40% of the requirements of the bachelor’s program, ensuring that academic and specialized standards are met.

General Aptitude Test

The university indicated that the comparison between applicants will be made based on the composite percentage, which is calculated at 80% for the academic average in the diploma and 20% for the general aptitude test, with the requirement that the applicant not Enrolled at the university or at any other university.

With regard to the application conditions, the university clarified that the applicant must be a Saudi or son of a Saudi woman, and that his average in the diploma should not be less than 3.75 out of 5, or 2.75 out of 4, or 75 out of 100, and that he must have a two-year academic diploma with a minimum of 60 accredited hours from an accredited educational institution within the Kingdom or an equivalent if it is from outside it, with his GPA not less than Courses required to be equated to good.

Important requirements

The university also required applicants for some programs to achieve specific scores in the English proficiency test (STEP), as admission to the College of Languages and Translation requires a score of 67 or its equivalent, while admission to some programs in the College of Computer and Information Sciences and the College of Business (Marketing Department) requires a score of at least 50.

She stated that the application will be in return for a financial compensation of 100 riyals, while tuition fees are calculated according to the number of credit hours, at 450 riyals per academic hour for theoretical courses, and 600 riyals per hour for applied courses, according to the decision of the University Council.

Multiple specializations

The bridging programs offered included a number of specializations in several colleges, the most prominent of which are: civil engineering, chemical engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, architecture, computer science, information systems, information technology, and science. Environment, public relations, graphics and multimedia, business administration, accounting, marketing, insurance and risk management, finance, sociology and social service, geographic information systems, and English language and literature.

The university stressed that initial acceptance does not mean final approval for bridging, stressing the importance of submitting the required documents in a high-quality electronic format, and carefully reviewing the instructions and controls before submitting the application.

Partial exemption

The university also indicated the possibility of granting a partial exemption from Tuition fees for outstanding students are according to specific controls, which include passing a semester with no less than 14 credit hours and achieving a cumulative GPA of no less than 4.90, with the exception of engineering specializations in which a GPA of 4.75 is required, provided that the exemption rate does not exceed 10% of those accepted into the program.
