The Crown Prince of Sharjah chairs the Executive Council meeting

Sharjah, 12 May / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, Chairman of the Executive Council, chaired this morning (Tuesday), in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, Deputy Chairman of the Council, and His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, Deputy Chairman of the Council, the Council meeting, which was held in the office of His Highness the Ruler.

During the meeting, the Council discussed government policies that enhance the level of progress witnessed by all sectors, and which is reflected in the social well-being and decent living of citizens and residents of Sharjah.

The Council issued a decision regarding the establishment and formation of the National Policy Implementation Committee for the Preservation of Modern Architectural Heritage in the Emirate of Sharjah, to be affiliated with the Sharjah Arts Foundation and work under its supervision.

The decision stipulates that the committee shall be formed under the chairmanship of the Director of the Sharjah Arts Foundation, and the membership of representatives with the rank of director of a department or head of a department from the entities, including the Department of Planning and Survey, the Initiatives Implementation Authority, the municipalities of the emirate’s cities, the Sharjah Architecture Triennial Foundation, and the Sharjah Heritage Institute.

And the Sharjah Arts Foundation.

The decision also stipulated that the committee aims to protect and preserve the modern architectural heritage in the emirate, highlight the emirate’s position as a leading global center in the field of protecting modern architectural heritage, enhance community awareness of the importance of modern architectural heritage and its role in highlighting the cultural and historical identity of the emirate, enhance cultural tourism in the emirate, and support economic growth in the areas surrounding modern architectural heritage sites.

The decision included legal materials related to the committee’s powers, its meetings, the formation of teams and subcommittees, periodic reports, and others.

The Council issued a decision to amend Executive Council Resolution No. (5) of 2013 regarding municipal fees and violations in the Emirate of Sharjah. The decision comes within the framework of unifying procedures at the level of the emirate’s municipalities and clarifying legislation by allocating a detailed schedule for fees for the arbitration committee, resolving contractor disputes, complaints and suggestions, and includes reducing the lawsuit registration fee from the owner for citizens’ homes from 1,500 dirhams to 500 dirhams.

In continuation of strengthening the legislative structure of the judicial system in the Emirate of Sharjah, the Council adopted a draft law regulating the profession of expertise before the judicial authority in the Emirate of Sharjah, and directed its General Secretariat to refer the draft law to the Advisory Council of the Emirate of Sharjah.
