Princess Kate is in Italy… on her first foreign visit in more than 3 years

Princess Kate, who is recovering from cancer, has begun a two-day official visit to Italy focusing on early childhood, in her first official trip abroad since late 2022.
The Princess of Wales, wife of Prince William, will arrive this afternoon in northern Italy, specifically to the city of Reggio Emilia, which was named after the Reggio curriculum, which is based on the idea that every child is naturally creative and intelligent.
Kate’s last official trip abroad dates back to December 2022, when she traveled to the American city of Boston, accompanied by Prince William, to accompany the awarding of the Earthshot Environmental Prize, which was launched by her husband in 2020.
In March 2024, Kate announced that she had cancer, without specifying the type, and that she had undergone chemotherapy.
She has gradually reappeared publicly since she announced in January 2025 that she is in the process of recovering from cancer.
The 44-year-old princess pays great attention to education, and is the mother of three children with her husband, Prince William, who are George (12 years old), Charlotte (11 years old), and Louis (8 years old).
