Shahed Miqat Dhu al-Hulaifa Mosque A package of development and rehabilitation works within an integrated strategy aimed at enhancing the system of services provided to the guests of the Most Gracious, and raising the quality of the faith experience for visitors, in line with the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and the program for serving the guests of the Most Merciful, in one of the most prominent spatial locations from which the pilgrimage to the Sacred House begins.

The implemented projects include raising The capacity of the mosque ranged from five thousand worshipers to more than 15 thousand worshipers, in addition to developing the services system inside the mosque, which included completely renewing the carpets in the prayer area in accordance with the visual identity of the mosque, on an area exceeding 2,400 square meters, in addition to developing audio systems using modern microphones and a digital audio mixing system via a control unit connected to more than 190 internal and external speakers.

The development and rehabilitation work included the implementation of more than 24 main and subsidiary corridors and axes to facilitate movement within the Miqat, in addition to planting more than 600 trees and shrubs in the surrounding squares, and installing more than 7,000 floodlights and lighting poles, in a way that enhances the cultural landscape and raises the efficiency of operation and services.

The area includes more than 40 various stores and outlets, including cafes, restaurants, supply stores, and support services, which contributes to To meet the needs of visitors and raise the quality of their experience, while the squares and facilities were equipped with a modern surveillance system that includes more than 300 digital cameras that support efficient operation and follow-up.

The development work included the Wadi Al-Aqiq Corniche project adjacent to the mosque, which was designed according to an engineering treatment that achieves a harmonious visual extension with the architecture of the mosque, using architectural elements inspired by its identity, which contributes to creating a civilized destination linked to the components of the historical path in Medina.

These projects are part of the tasks of the Medina Region Development Authority in supervising the Miqat Dhul-Hulaifa Mosque, in partnership with the Pilgrims of God Service Program and relevant parties, as part of continuous efforts to develop the infrastructure and improve the services provided to those who go to the mosque during the Hajj season 1447 AH.
