Global demand for electric cars rose for the second month

Global demand for Electric cars for the second month in a row last April, as High gasoline priceskeep buyers away from Fuel-powered cars.

Data reported by the consulting firm (Benchmark Mineral Intelligence) indicated that registration of new electric cars powered by batteries and plug-in hybrid electric cars increased by 6% in April from the same month of the previous year to reach 1.6 million, which is an indicator of sales. However, registration declined 9% from the highest record monthly level recorded last March.

The company said in a statement: "Demand remains supported by higher gasoline prices and the growing presence of Chinese OEMs".
