Chinese President Xi Jinping held a luncheon in honor of his American guest, Donald Trump, in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, on the second day of his visit to China, which is the first for an American president since 2017.

CNN reported that the menu included a group of luxurious Chinese dishes, some of which were designed to be in line with Trump’s well-known taste in food.

During the official banquet yesterday evening, guests ate dishes that included:

– Lobster in tomato soup.
– Crispy beef ribs.
– Peking roast duck.
– Cooked seasonal vegetables.
-Slow cooked salmon with mustard sauce.
– Steamed meat.

As for dessert, it included seashell-shaped pastries, tiramisu, in addition to a variety of fruits and ice cream.

During his speech at the banquet, Trump invited Xi to visit the United States on September 24, describing US-China relations as the most important in world history, and praised the long history of Beijing-Washington relations, and cultural and historical ties.

Trump said in his speech, “We have an opportunity to create a future characterized by greater cooperation and prosperity.” Trump described the Chinese President as a “friend,” adding that he held “very positive and constructive” talks with the Chinese President yesterday morning.

Trump thanked his Chinese counterpart for his “wonderful, unparalleled reception,” before reviewing stations of the Chinese presence in early American history, including the role of Chinese workers in building railroads in the United States.
