Trump says Xi supports Iran not obtaining a nuclear weapon and wants it to open the Strait of Hormuz

US President Donald Trump said on Friday that his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping supports Iran not obtaining a nuclear weapon.

“He (Xi) feels strongly that they cannot have a nuclear weapon and wants them to open the Strait,” Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One, referring to the Strait of Hormuz, which is vital for oil and liquefied gas exports.
