"National Media Authority" The first sessions of the national campaign are organized to introduce media content standards

Abu Dhabi, 15 May / WAM / The National Media Authority launched a series of sessions for the National Campaign to introduce the 2026 media content standards, which aims to establish a safe and responsible media environment that enables creativity and excellence in the country.
The Authority began the campaign activities by organizing the first community media council yesterday evening at the Mushrif Council in Abu Dhabi, in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi councils.
The first session, during which His Excellency Dr. Jamal Mohammed Al Kaabi, Secretary-General of the National Media Authority, spoke, was attended by a number of media figures, content creators, influencers, and those interested in the media sector in the country.
During the session, His Excellency Dr. Jamal Al Kaabi reviewed the Authority’s efforts to empower creative cadres and content makers in the UAE, as a prestigious global media center, stressing the work to improve the quality of responsible media products that embody authentic national values and adhere to regulatory frameworks and societal privacy.
He explained that media professionals and influencers in the country are ambassadors for the values of Emirati society and its tolerant identity, the voice of its achievements and its success story, which has become a global model in transforming ambitions into tangible reality with the vision of the wise leadership.
The Secretary-General of the National Media Authority pointed out during the session that highlighting the clear and transparent standards that govern the media and creative space comes at a very important time, especially with the tremendous growth witnessed by digital content production tools and platforms, and in conjunction with the rise of uses of generative artificial intelligence in creating reports and social media publications.
His Excellency said: “In a time when it has become possible for any of us to become a content creator or to be influential in a particular field, there is no substitute for the existence of unified and approved standards that constitute a standard and a reference that enables us to provide a responsible product that achieves the desired positive impact, respects values and symbols, values privacy, is keen on accuracy and reliability, and adheres to regulatory frameworks.”
He praised the efforts of media cadres and influencers in the country, describing them as ambassadors of innovation and professionalism who reflect the values of Emirati pluralism to the world, stressing that the sustainability of developing the stimulating environment in the Emirates aims to enable content creators to go beyond the limits of imagination and transform their ideas into realistic projects that leave a wide positive impact.
He stressed that the National Media Authority is moving forward in consolidating Emirati values and protecting the authentic principles of society, based on the standards of media content in the UAE, and continuing to introduce it in a national campaign that includes all parts of the country, in coordination and strategic partnership with various government agencies and media offices, in a way that enhances the competitiveness of the media environment and supports the national economy.
In a statement to the Emirates News Agency (WAM) on the sidelines of the session, His Excellency Dr. Jamal Mohammed Al Kaabi stressed the pivotal role of the media in strengthening national identity and protecting society, noting that the national campaign for content standards is a strategic step that aims primarily to keep pace with the advanced legislative and legal system whose foundations our country has laid.
His Excellency pointed out that the aim of the campaign is to build bridges of communication with all segments of society, and to educate them about the legal frameworks that regulate media work, especially since the audience of users of social media and media services are today the primary partner of the National Media Authority.
His Excellency said that the introductory tours include all the emirates of the country in close cooperation and coordination with local media offices, to ensure that our message reaches the largest possible number of members of society, stressing that we seek through this campaign to consolidate the targeted media practices, and to clarify the legal caveats with complete transparency to ensure that no individual puts himself under accountability as a result of a lack of knowledge of the legal standards. He said that these standards were established to be a shield that protects our national media and ensures its vitality and responsibility.
He added: “Today we present to the world a distinguished Emirati model in media interaction. It is necessary for everyone to adhere to the controls that have been established to enhance the quality of content. Commitment reflects compatibility with the state’s media policies, and it is our real bet to provide positive and purposeful content.”
He sent a special message to content creators in which he said: “We look to you to be ambassadors for these standards and leaders of opinion through your commitment to them. You are the role model in this field, and by providing content that is consistent with our values and laws, you contribute to protecting our society and building a media future of which we are all proud.”
The Council witnessed rich discussions that addressed the role of influencers in supporting the country’s strategic vision, how to transform media content standards into daily societal behavior, and highlighting the field activities accompanying the campaign.
Through its upcoming stations, the campaign targets all regions of the country, through high-level coordination between media offices, free zones and cultural institutions, to ensure that the awareness message reaches citizens and residents alike, ensuring the sustainability of the growth of the media sector in a safe, competitive environment that stimulates creativity.
