Dubai Municipality cooperates with Kita Drone to provide air delivery services via drones

Dubai Municipality signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Kita Drone to establish a drone delivery network covering public parks and beaches throughout the city, in support of providing the best experiences for visitors in future-ready public spaces, thus enhancing the emirate’s leadership in the field of innovation, smart mobility, and future-ready urban experiences.
This cooperation reflects the continuous efforts of Dubai Municipality in the field of integrating advanced technologies into public infrastructure, and creating more interconnected, smooth and user-focused environments, to enhance their experience and provide advanced levels of luxury and quality of life standards.
The partnership aims to develop the speed of delivery and service provision and enhance operational efficiency, by providing visitors with faster access to food and beverage services and basic goods upon request, creating more comfortable and smooth service experiences across public spaces that keep pace with the requirements of the future in all public destinations.
The partnership establishes a framework for cooperation in the areas of developing and testing drone delivery routes within public facilities, including public parks and beaches, while identifying the most appropriate locations within them to be used as starting or receiving points for delivery, in addition to evaluating opportunities to integrate aerial logistics technologies into everyday public places. It also stipulates evaluating opportunities to integrate air logistics technologies into everyday public spaces, exploring future-focused sustainable mobility solutions, while measuring opportunities for developing drone infrastructure within Dubai’s evolving urban ecosystem. This initiative also supports Dubai’s broader aspirations as a global leader in adopting smart mobility solutions that enhance the quality of life and redefine urban experiences.
Badr Anwahi, Executive Director of the Public Utilities Corporation at Dubai Municipality, said: “Dubai continues to strengthen its position as a world-leading city in adopting the latest future technologies that raise the quality of life and transform public spaces into integrated and smart environments. Through this cooperation with (Kita Drone), Dubai Municipality looks forward to employing innovative mobility solutions to support the provision of more efficient services, and to create and develop future-ready public places designed around the concepts of comfort, ease of access, improving visitors’ experiences and enhancing their well-being and quality of life. For his part, Chairman of Kita Drone, Dr. Yinyan Mao, said: “Our partnership with Dubai Municipality is to enhance access to people wherever they are, whether in parks, beaches or public facilities that make up the features of daily life in Dubai. We are working together to explore how air delivery services can seamlessly bring services to everyone, in a safe and seamless way and tailored to meet the needs of users.”
Under the agreement, the first pilot phases are expected to begin later this year in a number of selected public parks and beaches, as part of a city-wide implementation process. Dubai Municipality will also support this initiative by identifying and facilitating suitable locations within public facilities to conduct studies and pilot implementation. The municipality will provide the necessary information and operational coordination in line with approved regulations, procedures and urban planning policies, while supporting pilot activities and following up on results to ensure their compatibility with the strategic objectives and general frameworks of the city.
Kita Drone will be responsible for the technical evaluation of the proposed sites and their suitability as drone delivery points, in addition to designing and developing air delivery routes in accordance with operational and regulatory standards, as well as carrying out operational trials using drone technologies and providing technical evaluations and performance reports.
By leveraging emerging technologies and strengthening strategic partnerships, Dubai Municipality continues to develop future urban solutions that support smart city management and enhance Dubai’s position among the world’s leading cities in shaping the future of urban life. This cooperation also opens new horizons for future public projects, integrated with smart city initiatives, to provide innovative service models that focus on ease of access, comfort and user experience.
