Abu Dhabi, May 15 / WAM / Hamad Mohammed Suhail Al Ameri’s “Aviator” won the Al Thanaya Al Bakr Cup in the open race, within the annual final festival of camel racing, “Al Wathba Finale 2026”, in the presence of His Excellency Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Advisor to His Highness the President of the State, President of the Camel Racing Federation.
The festival’s competitions continued, for the sixth day in a row, in Al Wathba Square, where competitions were held for the age of the camels of the tribes, for a distance of 8 km, and “The Flyer” achieved the first symbol in the first main half with a time of 12:22:48 minutes.
“Mubasher” presented his owner, Muhammad Sultan Markhan Al-Ketbi, with a double-sided rifle in the open half, recording 12:26:39 minutes, making the logo the fifth symbol in the current edition of the festival.
Saeed Jaber Abdullah Al-Harbi’s slogan shined in the doubles category by winning two symbols in the local rounds, as the “Al-Wariyah” reel presented him with the Local Firstborn Cup, while “Thameen” won the local Al-Qa’dan Shaddad.
The morning period witnessed the establishment of 18 rounds, for the doubles of the group’s camels, and the first 4 rounds were allocated to the production symbols, and “Tharwa” won, for His Excellency Muhammad Sultan Matar bin Markhan Al Ketbi, the first doubles symbols for the tribal camels, after clinching the “Thanaya” Cup, the firstborn of local production, and presented its owner with the financial prize of one million dirhams, recording 12:30:45 minutes.
“Muazzaz” for its owner, Hamad Ali Belrasheed Al-Ketbi, won the second symbol, by winning the Al-Qa’dan rifle in the second main round of the Thanaya Al-Qa’dan local production, and a financial prize of 800 thousand dirhams, recording 12:31:87 minutes, while the third half witnessed “Al-Sayha” for the same logo winning the Thanaya Cup for the hybrid category, and a financial prize of one million dirhams, recording 12:25:49 minutes.
“Mabad”, by Saeed Manana bin Ghadeer Al Ketbi, snatched Shaddad Al Qa’dan in the fourth round of the Al-Tanaya Muhjanat Al-Intag, and a financial prize of 800 thousand dirhams, recording the best time of 12:22:93 minutes.
On the other hand, the double races will open the camel competitions of Their Highnesses the Sheikhs tomorrow, at Al Wathba Square, for a distance of 8 km, with 22 rounds, and the morning period will witness 14 rounds, while 8 rounds will be held in the evening period, and will conclude with two symbol races, where the first symbol will be for the open Al-Bakar Cup and its prize will be one million dirhams, and the second symbol will be for the open Al-Qa’dan rifle and its prize will be 800 thousand dirhams.
