The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council praises the efforts and success of the UAE’s mediation in the prisoner exchange process between Russia and Ukraine

The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jassim Mohammed Al-Budaiwi, praised the efforts and success of the UAE’s mediation in the prisoner exchange process between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Ukraine, which resulted in the completion of a new exchange process that included 410 prisoners. He said that this twenty-third mediation by the UAE since the outbreak of the Russian-Ukrainian crisis comes within its valuable and continuing efforts and humanitarian role in promoting a peaceful solution between the two sides.

He reiterated the position of the Cooperation Council on the Russian-Ukrainian crisis, which is based on the principles of international law and the United Nations Charter, and the preservation of the international order based on respect for the sovereignty, territorial integrity and political independence of states, non-interference in their internal affairs, and non-use or threat of force.
