المملكة: Academic endeavors to sustain nature.. Princess Noura University discusses the future of environmental reserves
Organized Princess Noura University Bint Abdul Rahman, represented by the College of Science, today, Sunday, the third environmental symposium in cooperation with the Development Authority Imam Abdulaziz bin Muhammad Royal Reserve, to discuss the role of reserves in achieving environmental balance.
The event was sponsored by the university’s acting president, Dr. Fawzia bint Suleiman Al-Amro, to highlight the national efforts made in preserving nature, and to shed light on initiatives to preserve ecosystems supported by digital innovation.
The Dean of the College of Sciences, Dr. Falwa bin Thaqfan, confirmed that the event constitutes a qualitative platform for raising the level of environmental responsibility, indicating that it contributes to Highlighting the research excellence of female students and enhancing the competitive advantage of female graduates to produce applied knowledge.
Nature Protection
The symposium witnessed the holding of seven specialized dialogue sessions, focusing on mechanisms for managing reserves through geographical information systems via the Al-Arma Environmental Observatory, and ways to restore natural habitats.
The scientific discussions touched on the importance of activating community partnership in resource management, and employing ecotourism as a main tool for protecting nature, before concluding its work with a session dedicated to announcing recommendations. The event was accompanied by the launch of a scientific exhibition called “EmpowerEco Expo,” during which the female students displayed research posters for their graduation projects, in addition to highlighting the products of the Al-Arma Observatory of the Reserve Development Authority.
These academic moves come in line with the general strategy of Princess Noura bint Abdulrahman University, which aims to expand the circle of institutional partnerships, support paths of applied scientific research and empower female students.
