Iran’s sinful attacks on the Gulf states are a blatant violation of sovereignty and neighbourhood

Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Jarwan, President of the Council for Tolerance and Peace, will participate in an international conference held in the Japanese capital, Tokyo, during the period from May 14 to 16, in the presence of an elite group of leaders, decision-makers and international experts, to discuss the most prominent challenges facing the international system in light of the escalating crises and accelerating geopolitical transformations.

The conference opened with a recorded video message from Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, in which she welcomed Japan’s guests and conference participants, stressing the importance of international dialogue and joint cooperation in facing current global challenges.

During the session devoted to the Middle East, Al-Jarwan stressed that the Middle East region is going through a very sensitive stage as a result of the intersection of political crises and security tensions, stressing that the sinful Iranian attacks on the Gulf countries represent a clear violation of the principles of sovereignty and good neighbourliness, and require a unified international position based on deterrence and respect for international law, in order to preserve the security and stability of countries and the region.

He stressed the strategic importance of the Strait of Hormuz as a vital artery for the global economy and energy security, explaining that any threat to international waterways directly reflects the stability of global markets and international supply chains, which makes protecting maritime navigation a shared international responsibility.

The sessions discussed the rapid development in artificial intelligence technologies, and the challenges associated with the unregulated use of these technologies, as international calls emerged to establish controls and regulatory frameworks that guarantee the responsible and safe use of artificial intelligence in a way that serves humanity and maintains international security and stability.

Al-Jarwan pointed out that the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace and the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace, which includes 120 parliamentarians from various countries around the world, believe in the importance of strengthening direct bilateral relations between countries as one of the most effective means of containing crises, building confidence and achieving practical and sustainable results, calling for intensifying channels of direct dialogue and cooperation between countries to achieve international security and stability.

Regarding the situation in Gaza, Al-Jarwan stressed that the absence of a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue remains one of the most prominent causes of tension and instability in the region, stressing the urgent need to protect people before paying attention to reconstruction, and the right of the Palestinian people to a decent life in accordance with the resolutions of international law.

Regarding the situation in Lebanon, he explained that Lebanon, with all its components, loves peace and deserves stability, expressing hope that Lebanon will return to its position, by giving priority to governmental and diplomatic work to remove the country from the circle of conflicts, limit foreign interference, and urge the international community and friends of Lebanon to provide more support for Lebanon’s stability and the security of its borders.

Al-Jarwan stressed that sustainable peace is not achieved by slogans, but rather through practical policies based on respecting the sovereignty of states, promoting dialogue, and building trust between peoples, reiterating the commitment of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace to continue its efforts in spreading the culture of tolerance and building bridges of understanding between nations and peoples.
