The Iraqi Prime Minister pledges to strengthen Arab, regional and international relations

Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi confirmed that the new Iraqi government will work to establish security and stability, protect Iraq’s sovereignty, and strengthen Arab, regional and international relations on the basis of mutual respect and common interests, in a way that preserves Iraq’s status and role in the region.
Al-Zaidi said, in a speech after officially taking over his position, today, Saturday, from former Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad al-Sudani, that the next stage will be a stage of true national partnership, transcending differences, pledging sincere work in confronting the challenges and launching a comprehensive economic and financial reform program, aiming to build a strong, diversified, and sustainable national economy that does not depend on a single resource.
He added that the government will work with all force to protect public funds and fight administrative and financial corruption in all its forms. It will be a government of a state of institutions and a government of law and justice that is open to everyone.
Al-Zaidi and his government were sworn in the day before yesterday, Thursday, after Parliament granted it confidence by an absolute majority.
