We welcome the employment of citizens… and Emiratisation rates are “largely satisfactory.”

Chairman of the Board of Directors of Rotana Hotels Group, Nasser Al Nowais, confirmed that tourism is one of the most promising sectors for young citizens, and said that the group greatly welcomes their employment, pointing out that the Emiratization rates in the group are “quite satisfactory.”

Al Nowais stated in an interview with “Emirates Today” that “medical and hospital tourism” is one of the sectors that will add value to the tourism sector in the UAE, expressing his aspiration for the availability of special resorts for hospitalization, and for a strong increase in their number in the Emirates.

He stressed that the measures taken by tourism departments at the state level to stimulate domestic tourism contributed greatly to increasing occupancy rates and demand for hotels in general, noting that hotel occupancy rates in the summer reach 80%, and this did not exist before.

In detail, Nasser Al Nowais, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Rotana Hotels Group, said that the measures taken by tourism departments at the state level to stimulate domestic tourism have contributed greatly to increasing occupancy rates and demand for hotels in general, in light of the effects caused by geopolitical tensions in the region and at the world level.

He stressed that 2025 is one of the years that witnessed an unprecedented boom in the number of tourists, exceeding 30 million tourists, which placed the UAE in first place in the Arab region and the Gulf countries.

Al Nowais continued: “In the UAE, we are accustomed to strong growth and booms after every crisis, and the evidence of this is the great growth witnessed by the economy, especially the tourism sector, after the Corona pandemic, specifically in the period from 2021 to 2025.”

He added: “Despite the current conditions, the Emirates is one of the best and safest tourist destinations, where people go about their work and life normally, whether at the level of work, study, or entertainment,” pointing out that everyone in the Emirates cherishes it and trusts its wise leadership, and the country’s tourism system has created strong ties with tourists from all countries of the world, with many of them visiting the country more than once.

Al Nowais stressed that the UAE’s entertainment and tourism infrastructure is among the best in the world, as evidenced by tourists and visitors, in addition to the level of security, safety, stability, and upscale treatment that characterizes hotels and resorts, in addition to the very distinctive services provided by the country’s airports, indicating that they are factors supporting the growth of the tourism sector.

In response to a question regarding the qualification of the group’s national cadres, Al Nowais said: “Tourism is considered one of the most promising sectors for young citizens, and we at (Rotana Group) have a great interest in employing them, while our Emiratization rates are very satisfactory.”

Al Nowais stressed that the incentives provided by the government are also supportive of the nationalization of youth, noting that the tourism sector is one of the most important sectors witnessing growth, saying: “If we take the Emirate of Abu Dhabi as an example, the sector has witnessed growth over the past three years that exceeded 20% in profits and revenues.”

Al Nowais believed that the most important thing that investors and hotel owners in the Emirates value is cooperation with government departments and agencies that listen to all proposals and demands, to encourage tourism, in addition to these entities opening foreign offices, remarkable attendance in all international tourism events, and constant communication with workers in the sector on a monthly basis, which stimulates and supports attracting tourists and stimulates travel to the Emirates.

Al Nowais pointed out that hotels in the UAE meet the requirements of various segments and levels, whether luxury ones, wealthy tourists, or middle-income tourists, as well as young people, revealing plans to increase the number of hotel rooms through new projects and expansion plans that are announced, stressing that all of these matters are in the interest of tourism movement and increasing the number of tourists.

Al Nowais pointed out that the services available throughout the year, including commercial centers, restaurants, museums, and shopping places, all serve tourists, whether in the summer or winter season, with the support of great marketing carried out by specialized tourism departments, pointing out that hotel occupancy rates in the summer reach 80%. He said: “It did not exist before, in addition to the great demand during the winter season.”

In response to a question regarding the addition that could be new to the hospitality sector in the country, Al Nowais said: “What I look forward to is its strong presence and increase in number in the Emirati market, are the resorts for hospitalization, especially in light of the presence of suitable weather and excellent health and medical infrastructure.”

Al Nowais stressed that the medical and hospital tourism sector is one of the sectors that will add value to the tourism sector in the UAE.
