Dubai Police enables the family to properly deal with negative news

The Dubai Police General Command, represented by the General Department of Human Rights, launched the “Family Immunity” initiative through its “Family Protection” awareness platform, which it organizes at Mirdif City Center over a period of three days, with the aim of enhancing the preventive awareness of the family, and enabling the mother and child to deal consciously with negative news and rumours, thus contributing to consolidating psychological and social stability, enhancing the quality of life and community security.
The initiative comes within the efforts of Dubai Police to support national trends aimed at protecting the family, consolidating the concepts of family cohesion, and raising the level of legal, social and psychological awareness among various segments of society, through integrated awareness programs that combine prevention, support and guidance.
Director of the General Department of Human Rights, Brigadier General Abdul Rahman Al Shaer, confirmed that the initiative embodies the vision of Dubai Police and its humanitarian approach in enhancing community security and stability, based on its belief that a conscious and cohesive family constitutes the basic foundation for building a safe and stable society, capable of facing various challenges and changes.
He said that the Dubai Police General Command attaches great importance to the family protection file, in line with the directives of the wise leadership aimed at consolidating the quality of life and enhancing the values of community cohesion and solidarity, noting that the initiative comes in conjunction with the “International Day of the Family” and the “Year of the Family”, which reflects the keenness to launch specific initiatives that touch the needs of society, and contribute to raising the family’s psychological, intellectual and media readiness.
He added that Dubai Police works according to an integrated system in partnership with various concerned authorities, to provide a safe and supportive environment for the family, women and children, through preventive and awareness programs and sustainable community initiatives, which enhance the ability of family members to deal positively with crises and challenges, and limit the psychological and social effects resulting from the circulation of false information or negative content, stressing that investing in family awareness is a direct investment in the security and stability of society.
In turn, Deputy Director of the General Department of Human Rights, Colonel Faisal Al-Khamiri, said that the “Family Immunity” initiative comes as a continuation of a series of community initiatives implemented by Dubai Police with the aim of strengthening the preventive culture among members of society, and raising the level of awareness of methods for properly dealing with media content and rumours, especially in light of the rapid development of social media and great digital openness.
He explained that the awareness platform focuses on enabling the family to acquire the skills of dealing consciously with circulating news and information, and not being carried away by rumors or misleading messages, which may cause a negative psychological or societal impact, indicating that the initiative seeks to build a more aware society and the ability to verify information and obtain news from approved official sources.
For his part, Director of the Department of Child and Women’s Protection, Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Ali Al-Matroushi, stated that the “Family Immunity” initiative aims to strengthen the psychological and media immunity of the family, especially the mother and child, so that they can properly deal with negative news and rumours, based on three basic axes, namely prevention, response and recovery, in a way that ensures the preservation of psychological and family stability.
He added that the initiative will include awareness workshops for mothers on how to verify news sources and take inspiration from official sources only, in addition to providing simplified content for children, which will help them differentiate between real news and rumours, as well as sessions for preventive psychological support and guidance, and implementing digital awareness campaigns, including short film clips and targeted multilingual media messages.
He pointed out that the initiative seeks to raise the level of community awareness on how to deal with rumors and negative news, reduce societal fear in times of crises, enhance the psychological stability of women, children and the family, and enable mothers to contain different situations with wisdom, awareness and balance, which will reflect positively on the stability of the family and society as a whole.
It is noteworthy that the awareness platform includes educational programs on women’s rights, consolidating the concepts of legal protection and support, and promoting a safe and stable family environment, in accordance with the federal legislation in force in the United Arab Emirates. In addition to informing the public of the communication channels available with Dubai Police, including the women’s protection service and the child protection service through the smart application and the Dubai Police website, in addition to the call center (901) and the number (999) for emergency cases.
Visitors to the platform can also enjoy interactive activities for children, presented by “Khaled” magazine for children, issued by the Security Media Department of Dubai Police, with the aim of enriching their experience and enhancing their awareness in an entertaining and educational manner that combines benefit and fun.
