In the Good Government Index 2026…the UAE government consolidates its position on the list of the 10 most efficient and effective governments in the world.

Dubai, May 17 / WAM / In a new confirmation of the success of its development model based on proactiveness, flexibility and readiness for the future, the UAE government has continued to strengthen its position among the most efficient and effective governments in the world, by achieving a new global achievement by consolidating its position on the list of the 10 most effective and efficient governments in the world in the “Chandler Good Government Index 2026”. This achievement reflects the vision of the wise leadership in building a future government based on innovation, institutional efficiency, and the ability to adapt to global transformations, thus enhancing the country’s position as a global model in modern governance.

The advanced performance of the UAE confirms the success of its government approach in transforming national ambitions into tangible global achievements, through the development of an integrated government work system that combines policy efficiency, economic attractiveness, quality of life, and investment in people, in line with the goals of “We Are the Emirates 2031” and enhances the country’s global presence as a reliable partner and a global center for creating the future.

This progress came in the “Chandler Good Government Index 2026”, which is considered one of the most comprehensive global indicators in assessing the efficiency of national governments, which included 133 countries, confirming the UAE’s success in establishing a government model that relies on proactiveness and speed in achievement, government flexibility, readiness in the face of changes, and the ability to create opportunities and continue to achieve leading competitive results at the global level.

His Excellency Mohammed Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, said, “With the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, and the follow-up of his brother His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, the UAE was able to redefine the concept of government work globally, through a model based on speed of achievement, efficiency of performance, readiness and permanent flexibility in decision-making and development.”

His Excellency added, “The leadership of the UAE was not satisfied with building a traditional government that manages the present, but rather a government that creates the future, develops opportunities, anticipates changes, and transforms global challenges into new paths of growth and development.”

His Excellency stressed, “International indicators reflect the position that the UAE has reached as one of the most efficient, flexible and effective governments in the world. It is an achievement that embodies the vision of an exceptional leadership that believed that true investment begins with people, and that creating the future requires different thinking, proactive action, and a culture that does not know the impossible. What has been achieved is the result of national work teams that have made excellence a daily approach, innovation a work method, and Emirati leadership a global model to be emulated in building the governments of the future.”

The UAE has achieved advanced results that translate the success of its government approach, as it came first in the Arab and regional countries in good governance, while it topped the world in a number of indicators, as it came in first place globally in the government innovation index, the ability to determine strategic priorities index, the flexibility index in implementing plans and strategies, and the state budget surplus index, which reflects the efficiency of the Emirati government model in anticipating the future and transforming visions into tangible development results.

The country also ranked second globally in indicators of satisfaction with government services, ability to adapt, and employment, embodying the success of government policies in enhancing the quality of life, raising the efficiency of government services, empowering national competencies, and attracting international talent.

The UAE ranked third globally in the indicators of long-term vision and the efficiency of coordination and harmony between government institutions, which reflects the success of the government work model based on institutional integration and long-term strategic planning, in addition to its ability to develop flexible policies that keep pace with global changes and contribute to accelerating government achievement.

The Chandler Good Government Index is based on seven main axes that include 35 indicators that measure the efficiency of governments in the areas of leadership and foresight, the strength of laws, policies and institutions, the efficiency of managing financial resources, the attractiveness of markets, global influence and national reputation, and global diplomacy. The index is issued by the Chandler Institute of Governance in Singapore, and relies on reliable international data and sources, including the World Bank, the World Health Organization, and the United Nations Development Programme.
