The head of the Terrorist Crimes Prosecution in Bahrain stated that the High Criminal Court, in its session held today, issued its ruling against an accused after he was convicted of seeking and communicating with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Organization and the Lebanese Hezbollah terrorist organization and accessing vital data and handing them over to a foreign country, with the intention of carrying out terrorist and hostile acts against the Kingdom of Bahrain and harming its interests, in addition to his encouraging and supporting terrorist and hostile acts against the Kingdom of Bahrain, where it ruled that he be punished with imprisonment. Life imprisonment and confiscation of seized items.

The details of the incident are due to the receipt of information confirmed by the investigations of the Bahraini General Department of Investigation and Criminal Evidence, indicating that the Lebanese terrorist Hezbollah recruited the accused, who is inside the Kingdom of Bahrain, to carry out terrorist operations at home after he sought to join the party, and assigned him to send information, pictures, and video clips about the results of the brutal Iranian aggression against the Kingdom of Bahrain to electronic accounts managed from within Iran under the supervision of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and Iranian intelligence services, upon their request, in a way that benefits the enemy and threatens the security and safety of the Kingdom and the lives of citizens. and its residents.

Immediately after the Public Prosecution received the report, it began investigations into the incident, where it interrogated the accused, who admitted in detail the accusation against him, listened to witness statements, and assigned technical experts to examine the seized electronic devices. The results of the examination confirmed that the accused had committed the accusations against him, and in light of that, the Public Prosecution ordered his detention and his referral to the High Criminal Court, which issued the aforementioned ruling in today’s session.

The case was considered over the course of several sessions, during which all established legal guarantees were taken into account, including the presence of the accused’s lawyer and enabling him to express his defenses, within the framework of full compliance with the legally established fair trial guarantees.

In this context, the Public Prosecution stressed that protecting the supreme interests of the Kingdom of Bahrain and preserving its security, sovereignty and territorial integrity is a national duty imposed by the provisions of the law, and that communicating with foreign entities or countries or working for them in a way that would harm the security of the state or compromise its independence constitutes a crime against the security of the state, requiring criminal accountability. The Public Prosecution also confirms that it continues to firmly confront all acts that undermine the country’s security and stability, and to prosecute anyone proven to be involved in them by participating, inciting, or aiding them, as they are among the serious crimes for which the law stipulates severe penalties that may amount to death.
