The State of Kuwait condemns the sinful attack that targeted the vicinity of the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant

The State of Kuwait expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of the sinful attack that targeted an electric generator outside the inner perimeter of the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant in the Al Dhafra region in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi with a drone, stressing that it is a blatant violation of the sovereignty of the United Arab Emirates and a serious threat to the security and stability of the region.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait confirmed in a statement today reported by the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that targeting peaceful nuclear power plants constitutes a clear violation of international law, international humanitarian law, and the United Nations Charter, as it may entail serious risks to civilians, the environment, and regional and international security, stressing that targeting vital and civilian sites is condemned and rejected by all legal standards.

It renewed the State of Kuwait’s full solidarity with the United Arab Emirates and its support for all measures it takes to preserve its security and stability and preserve its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
