Abu Dhabi, May 20 / WAM / Members of the Federal National Council confirmed that the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him”, to adopt an integrated national system for health insurance for citizens that includes all the emirates of the country, represents a strategic step that embodies the UAE’s firm approach to investing in people as it is the core of the development process and a national priority, and reflects the wise leadership’s keenness to enhance the quality of life, and consolidate the country’s position as a global model in building a sustainable health system. They said in statements to the Emirates News Agency, WAM, that the royal directives reflect the vision of the wise leadership that places human health at the forefront of national priorities, through an integrated system based on prevention, innovation, digital transformation, and employing the latest medical technologies and artificial intelligence to ensure the sustainability and efficiency of health services in accordance with the highest international standards.

For her part, Her Excellency Maryam Majid Bin Thaniah, Second Vice-President of the Federal National Council, said that the directive of the wise leadership to establish a comprehensive national health system for all the emirates of the country constitutes a qualitative addition to the social care system in the UAE, and reflects the firm interest in citizen health as a basic pillar of comprehensive development.

She added that this system will contribute to improving the quality of life and achieving the sustainable health development that the country aspires to, thus enhancing the UAE’s leadership position in developing health and social services.

For his part, His Excellency Dr. Adnan Hamad Al Hammadi, a member of the Council, said that the UAE continues to establish an integrated national health system that has made human health and quality of life an established national priority within the country’s comprehensive development process.

He explained that the launch of the comprehensive health insurance system represents an important step that allows every citizen to enjoy health insurance in the various emirates of the country, by building an advanced health model based on innovation and sustainability, and keeping pace with the best international standards in medical care, prevention and quality of services.

He added that the continuous achievements in the health sector reflect the great attention that the wise leadership attaches to humans as the focus and primary goal of development, through the qualitative expansion of smart hospitals and medical centers and investment in modern technologies, artificial intelligence and scientific research.

In turn, Her Excellency Naima Al-Sharhan, a member of the Council, said that the launch of the comprehensive health insurance system for citizens embodies the approach of the wise leadership in consolidating the quality of life, enhancing health security, and preserving the dignity of the Emirati person.

She added that the High Directives carry profound humanitarian and national dimensions, confirming that the citizen will always remain at the forefront of the leadership’s priorities.
