Israel’s treatment of Gaza flotilla activists is unacceptable

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni denounced Israel’s treatment of detained Gaza flotilla activists, considering it “unacceptable,” after the far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir published a video clip showing some of them kneeling with their hands tied behind their backs and their heads on the ground.
“It is unacceptable that these protesters, including many Italian citizens, are subjected to this treatment that violates human dignity,” Meloni said in a statement, referring to the video published by Itamar Ben Gvir in which a number of “Resilience Fleet” activists are detained and shackled.
For his part, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar, in a post on the “X” platform on Wednesday, criticized Itamar Ben Gvir for publishing the video, and considered it a “shameful display.”
