Dubai Customs discusses commercial and maritime cooperation with Kuwait

DUBAI, 22nd May / WAM / His Excellency Abdullah bin Damithan, Chairman of the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation, discussed with His Excellency Khalid Abdul Rahim Al Zaabi, Consul General of the State of Kuwait in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, ways to enhance bilateral cooperation and partnership in the fields of maritime transport, trade exchange and customs, during their meeting at the Corporation’s headquarters in Dubai.

The meeting shed light on the strategic initiatives and projects implemented by the Corporation with the aim of enhancing the continuity of supply chains and facilitating the flow of trade movement. Abdullah bin Damithan stressed the role of the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation in supporting the business community in light of the geopolitical changes that the world is witnessing.

Al Zaabi praised the Corporation’s initiatives and efforts in strengthening bilateral relations between the UAE and the State of Kuwait, praising the speed and efficiency of the Corporation’s response in dealing with the accident of the Kuwaiti oil tanker “Al Salmi” while it was in Dubai waters, given the pivotal role played by the Dubai Maritime Authority in managing and responding to the accident.

The meeting was attended by Sheikh Dr. Saeed bin Ahmed Al Maktoum, Executive Director of the Dubai Maritime Authority at the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation, along with a number of diplomats at the Kuwaiti Consulate in Dubai.
