The Federal Public Prosecution participates in the international training forum on cyber terrorism and digital crimes

Rome, May 23 / WAM / The Federal Public Prosecution participated in the international training forum on cyber terrorism and digital crimes, which was held in the Italian capital, Rome, and organized by the Italian Supreme Judicial Council with the support of the Euro-Arab Network for Judicial Training, with the participation of more than 20 countries.

The participating delegation included Counselor Hassan Al-Muaini, Chief Public Prosecutor from the Federal Public Prosecution for Combating Rumors and Cybercrimes, and Counselor Saud Al-Mansouri, from the Legislation Department at the Ministry of Justice.

This participation affirmed the UAE’s interest in keeping pace with global developments in the field of combating cyberterrorism, enhancing international judicial and security cooperation, and exchanging experiences and best practices related to digital investigations and electronic evidence.

The program witnessed the presence of a number of senior leaders and officials from the Italian side, including the Minister of Defense, Guido Crosetto, and the Minister of the Interior, Matteo Piantidozzi, in addition to leaders from the Public Prosecution Office for Combating Mafia and Terrorism and senior officials of the Italian Supreme Judicial Council.

Counselor Hassan Al-Muaini presented a scientific paper entitled “Cyber-terrorism: The legislative and judicial system to confront cyber-terrorism and the UAE’s experience in dealing with it,” in which he reviewed the legal concept of cyber-terrorism, its various forms, and the UAE legislative framework, including laws to combat terrorist crimes and cyber-crimes.

The participation confirmed the UAE’s position as an advanced model in cyber legislation, and resulted in strengthening international cooperation in the areas of information exchange and digital investigations, in addition to discussing the development of joint training programs and benefiting from international experiences in digital evidence.

On the sidelines of the participation, the Federal Public Prosecution reviewed the white paper of the global summit specialized in the governance of emerging technologies and artificial intelligence (Gets), with the aim of supporting the responsible use of modern technologies and strengthening relevant international frameworks.
