The “Industry” issues 80 new mining licenses during the month of March 2026


The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources issued (80) new mining licenses during the month of March 2026.

This comes within the framework of its efforts to develop the mining sector in the Kingdom and maximize its benefit in diversifying sources of income for the national economy.

The official spokesman for the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, Jarrah Al-Jarrah, said that the new mining licenses included (49) exploration licenses, (20) building materials quarry licenses, and (8) mining and mine exploitation licenses. Small, (2) reconnaissance licenses, and one surplus mineral ore license, according to the report of the Ministry’s National Center for Industrial and Mining Information on mining indicators for the month of March 2026. License, then licenses "Mining and small mine exploitation" With (285) licences, reconnaissance licenses with (76) licences, then come surplus mineral ore licenses with (10) licences.

Mining Investment System

He pointed out that the Mining Investment System and its executive regulations specified (6) types of mining licenses, including the reconnaissance license, which covers all types of minerals for a period of two years that can be extended, and the detection license for all types of minerals for a period of (5) years for minerals of categories (A). (B), a license for minerals category (C) for one year, and a general purpose license linked to a mining or small mine license.

He added: "The system also specifies licenses for exploitation, including a mineral mining license from categories (A) and (B), the license period of which does not exceed 30 years, renewable or extendable, a small mineral mine license from categories (A) and (B), the duration of which does not exceed (20) years, and a building materials quarry license designated for mineral category (C), the license period of which reaches (10) years and is extendable.

The system included a license for surplus mineral ores at project sites or privately owned lands".
